How it goes
Four steps, and three of them are ours.

You export a file
Every booking system has an export button somewhere. If you cannot find yours, tell us which one you use and we will send you the two clicks.

We read it and check it
We match up the columns, run it against a copy of your site first, and tell you anything that looks wrong — a missing email, a date in an odd format — before it touches your live data.

You look it over
Your customers, your services, your appointment history, all in Booked. Nothing goes live until you say so.

You switch on
Put the booking form on your site and take your first booking. Your old system keeps running until you turn it off — there is no gap.

Or import it in about five minutes.
The importer is built into the plugin, so you do not have to wait for us. Settings → Import and export, drop in your CSV, and it works out which column is which. If something is unclear, the assistant maps the awkward columns for you.
Nothing is written until you say so
The preview shows exactly what would be created, what would be updated, and which rows would fail — listed by line number, so you can fix them in the spreadsheet.
Safe to run twice
Customers match on email and services match on name, so a half-finished import is fixed by simply running it again. No duplicates, no unpicking.
Export whenever you like
Your data is yours and the database is on your own server. One button, a spreadsheet, no support ticket, no notice period.

The things people ask before they move.
Is the migration really free?
Yes. There is no migration fee and no minimum term to qualify for it. We would rather you moved across than didn't, and charging you to hand us your data would be a strange way to start.
How long does it take?
Most pharmacies are moved over within two working days of sending us an export. A large history with several years of appointments can take a day longer because we check it rather than just load it.
Will my customers notice?
Only that the booking page looks different. Their history comes with them, so when they book again you can still see everything they have had done, and their old confirmations stay valid.
What if my old system exports something strange?
Send it anyway. We have not met a format yet that we could not read, and if we genuinely cannot, we will tell you straight away rather than take your money first.
What happens to appointments already in the diary?
They come across with their dates, times, prices and status. You can run both systems side by side for a week if you would rather ease into it — there is no cut-off date we impose on you.
Can I import it myself instead?
Yes. The importer is built into the plugin under Settings → Import and export. It reads a CSV from any system, works out which column is which, and shows you exactly what it would do before it writes anything.
Can I get my data back out again later?
Any time, one button, no asking. Customers, services and bookings all export to CSV. Booked is self-hosted, so the database is on your own server either way.
