Your Dashboard

Today at a glance, and anything that still needs your attention.

The Dashboard is the first screen in Booked: today, this week, what needs a decision from you, and a way into everything else. Open Booked › Dashboard, at the top of the sidebar. The line at the very bottom sums the day up, for example “Morning. 9 in today across 5 staff.” The staff figure counts the people with hours today who are not on a day off.

The Dashboard takes “today” from your computer’s clock. Until your set-up is finished, a Set up Booked card sits above everything else and takes you back to where you stopped.

Lessons and the four numbers

• 1Learn Booked, a screen at a time — short lessons that light up part of a screen and wait while you try it. Start runs the next one and carries on through the rest; All lessons lists them; Not now hides the card. It counts how many you have done, and once you have finished one its title becomes Keep learning Booked.
• 2The four numbers — each tile opens the screen behind it. Today counts today’s appointments that are not cancelled, against the same weekday last week, and opens the Diary. This week adds up the price of every appointment dated Monday to Sunday this week, paid or not, against last week. No-shows this month is the share of this month’s appointments so far (cancelled ones left out) marked as a no-show, against last month. Both open Insights. Unfinished bookings counts the people who stopped part-way through your form after leaving an email address, and opens Unfinished. The first three tiles carry a small trend line of the last six days, weeks or months.

Today and what needs you

• 1Today · your business name — one column for each active member of staff who works today or has an appointment today, with their hours (or “day off”) under their name, plus an Unassigned column for appointments with nobody attached. A red line marks the current time, and appointments carry the Diary’s colours and tags. Click one to open the booking, or Open diary → for the full view.
• 2Needs you — decisions waiting on you, counted beside the title, in this order: bookings waiting for approval (Review); today’s appointments with a flagged screening answer (Review); open chargebacks (Decide); today’s appointments from someone who has missed one before and has paid nothing, not even a deposit (Take deposit opens the booking; it charges nothing itself); live waiting-list offers (See); and a new version of Booked (Update). When there is nothing, it reads “Nothing waiting on you. Enjoy it.”

The week, the form, and getting about

• 1Bookings this week — each day’s appointments, Monday to Sunday, cancelled ones left out, split into Online, Phone / walk-in and No-shows. Only bookings with the Walk-in switch on count as phone or walk-in; everything else counts as online, including bookings you add yourself without it. Days still to come are faded.
• 2Quick actions — New booking, Customers, Block time off (it opens the Diary), Messages, Booking links, Unfinished, Insights and Settings. Above them, Form funnel shows how many people reached each step of your online form in the last seven days, the share lost at each step, and the step followed by the biggest drop. Just happened lists the latest eight lines of the activity log; Activity → opens the full log.

If the Dashboard doesn’t look right

• Today is empty but you have bookings. Only appointments dated today appear, cancelled ones are left out, and “today” is your computer’s date. Check the booking’s date in the Diary, and the clock on the computer.
• Nobody’s column in Today. A column appears for each active member of staff with hours on today’s weekday or an appointment today. With nobody working and nothing booked, the card says “Nothing booked for today.” If it says “Add your staff to see who is doing what.”, today’s appointments belong to staff who are set to inactive.
• The funnel says tracking is off. Switch on Record unfinished bookings under Settings › Booking rules, or Unfinished bookings under Features. See Unfinished bookings.
• Unfinished bookings shows more than the funnel. The tile reads “last 7 days”, but it counts everyone Booked still holds who left an email address and has not booked, up to the retention period in Booking rules (30 days unless you change it). The funnel below it really is the last seven days.
• A colleague sees less than you. Team members only see the appointments their access allows, so their numbers can be smaller. See Team access.
• Booked opens somewhere else. It reopens the last screen you used in this browser. Click Dashboard at the top of the sidebar.
