The Live view
Who is in your booking form right now, and where they are.
Live, under Overview in the sidebar, shows who is in your booking form this second: how many people, which step each of them is on, and everything happening across Booked as it happens. The Live tab in Insights shows the same people on a globe, with roughly where in the world they are.
Both are built from the same record as Unfinished bookings, so they need that switched on; until it is, they say tracking is off instead of showing anybody. "Live" means somebody who has moved on the form in the last three minutes (180 seconds), so a person reading one question for longer drops off the count.

Updating every 5 seconds ☐ Bookings only
Live. Who is booking, where they are up to, and where today’s bookings came from.
- 1The four tiles — On your booking form now is everyone who has moved on the form in the last three minutes, and how many of them are paying. Booked today counts today’s appointments that are not cancelled. Taken today adds up what Booked Payments has collected against those appointments, deposits and balances. Unfinished today counts attempts started today that left an email address, split into followed up and still to follow up.
- 2Right now on your booking form — five stages in the order of the form: Opened the form (screening questions, branch or category), Picking a service (and its questions), Picking a time (and extras or who with), Entering details and At payment, then Booked for today’s appointments. Under a stage, “left here today” counts people who gave an email address and stopped there. The footer sets today’s appointments against those who left at the time, details or payment step. ❚❚ pauses the updates; the bell pings when a new booking reaches the feed.
- 3Where today’s bookings came from — each source’s share of bookings as a percentage, top six, using the source tag exactly as it was written. (At present this panel reads your last 30 days of bookings, not today’s alone.) By location beside it counts today’s appointments at each branch.
- 4Live feed — the activity log as it happens, newest first, with who did it: new online bookings, changes, payments and everything else the activity log records. It checks every five seconds; Bookings only hides everything else.
The counter in the sidebar
When somebody is on your booking form, a blue number appears beside Live in the sidebar: how many people are on it. Click Live to come straight here. When nobody is, there is no number at all — a permanent “0” would be a small disappointment on every page load. The number refreshes once a minute and whenever you change screen, so it can trail the Live screen by a little.
The globe, in Insights
Open Insights and choose Live in the bar at the top. The same people appear on a slowly turning globe, with the form’s own step names and a list of countries. It checks every five seconds.

Insights › Live: the globe, the steps people are on, and their countries.
- 1Overview and Live — the switch at the top of Insights. The Live tab has no date range; it is always right now.
- 2The globe — a dot for each country with somebody on the form, bigger for more people, with the total underneath. It turns slowly, and holds still if your computer is set to reduce motion.
- 3Where they are in the form — each step somebody is on right now, by the form’s own step names, and the busiest one when more than one person is there.
- 4Where in the world — the same people by country. If countries cannot be worked out on your site, it says so here and the globe stays empty.
- 5The footer — the three-minute window, and See who did not finish, which opens Unfinished.
How the countries are worked out
Two ways, in this order. If a CDN such as Cloudflare sits in front of your site it has already worked out the country and Booked uses that, because it is more accurate than anything else can be. Otherwise Booked resolves it from a lookup table shipped with the plugin, built from the regional internet registries' own public records.
