A tour of Settings

What lives on each tab, grouped the way the screen is — so you can find any option fast.

Settings is one screen with fifteen tabs, grouped down the left in roughly the order you need them. Most of it you set once and never look at again. Here is what lives where — and the few places where the tab you are on is not the tab you want.

One Save button, all tabs

There is one Save settings button and it appears twice — in the header and pinned to the bottom. Either one saves every change you have made across every tab, not only the one in front of you. So you can set your company details, hop to booking rules, change something there, and save once.

The five groups

GroupWhat is in itWhen you need it
Your businessCompany details · Region & currencyFirst thing, once.
Taking bookingsBooking rules · Waiting list · Customer accountsSetting up, then rarely.
MoneyPayments · Your plan · Add-ons · AI creditsBefore your first booking, then when something changes.
Reminders & calendarEmails & texts · Calendar syncOnce, then when you want to reword something.
AdvancedTracking & pixels · Import & export · API keys · Activity logMost people never open these.

If you are new: work down the first three groups in order and ignore Advanced entirely. You do not need any of it to take bookings.

Your business

TabWhat is on it
Company detailsYour name, email, phone, website and address. These fill in your emails, your booking form and your invoices, so it is worth being accurate — the address here is the one a customer is given directions to.
Region & currencyCountry, timezone, currency and whether you show times as 09:00 or 9am. Get the timezone right before you take a booking — everything is stored against it, and changing it later moves appointments that are already in the diary.

Taking bookings

TabWhat is on it
Booking rulesHow far ahead people can book, how much notice you need, whether bookings are confirmed automatically or wait for you, how a reference number looks, and whether same-visit bundles are offered. See Booking rules.
Waiting listOff by default. Turn it on and people who find nothing free can ask to be told when something opens up. See The waiting list.
Customer accountsWhether customers get an account where they can see and move their own appointments, and what they are allowed to change. See The customer account portal.

Money

TabWhat is on it
PaymentsWhether you take card payments, deposits or nothing at all; your payout details; refunds and chargebacks; and the name that appears on a customer's bank statement.
Your planYour licence key, which site it is locked to, your invoices, and your card. This is also where you move Booked to a different domain.
Add-onsVideo consultations, Booked SMS — switch them on and off here.
AI creditsWhat you have left, what each AI action costs, topping up, and automatic top-ups. See AI credits and your monthly allowance.

Reminders & calendar

TabWhat is on it
Emails & textsEvery message Booked sends — confirmations, reminders, cancellations — and the wording of each. Also the daily digest to your team, and your text-message settings.
Calendar syncPush your bookings into a Google or Microsoft calendar so your staff see them where they already look.

Advanced

You can ignore all of this until you have a reason not to.

TabWhat is on it
Tracking & pixelsMeta, Google and TikTok conversion tracking, if you advertise.
Import & exportBring customers, services or bookings in from a spreadsheet, or take yours out. See Moving from another system.
API keysFor a developer building something against Booked. See Scoped API keys.
Activity logEvery change made in Booked — who, what and when. The first place to look when something is not as you left it.

Two things that are not in Settings

People look for these here and they live elsewhere, because they are things you change often rather than set once.

Not sure where something is?

Ask Sidekick — the bubble in the bottom-right corner of every screen. "Where do I change my opening hours?" gets you the answer and the path, and it can often just do it for you. See Sidekick.
